Supplementary Terms Regarding the Inspection and Quarantine Requirements for the Plant-derived Chinese Medical Herbs Exported from Laos

According to the supplementary terms of the Protocol between the Customs of China and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of Laos on Phytosanitary Requirements for the Export of Lao Plant-Derived Traditional Chinese Medicines to China, effective immediately, the import of 14 types of plant-derived traditional Chinese medicines, including Cibotium barometz, from Laos is permitted. The relevant requirements are hereby announced as follows:

1. Plant-derived traditional Chinese medicines refer to products made from 14 medicinal plants, including Cibotium barometz, that are wild or cultivated in Laos.

2. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of Laos shall ensure that the plant-derived traditional Chinese medicines exported to China do not carry quarantine pests of concern to China.

3. Other requirements for the export of Lao plant-derived traditional Chinese medicines to China shall be implemented in accordance with GACC Announcement No. 150 of 2023.
